Here's a way to do it: connect all the scsi cables, but not the power
cable to the problem drive. Boot the 68k Mac and start the formatting
software. Now apply power to the drive.

That produces a System Crash with an error Type 10, and when you hit Restart, you get an address error, and eventually the computer locks up.

Or you can just run Apple HD SC Setup (not Drive Setup) on a PowerMac,
since this older program always installs a 68k driver when it formats a
drive.

Will try zeroing the drive and initializing it with the PowerMac using the Patched version of HD_SC. Thanks, I zeroed it and initialized it before using Drive Setup. (D'oh!)
