Hi again,
Well, I am now at the end of a very long road. I figured out that my
2GB, while sitting in it's enclosure, never had the enclosure jumpers
set on the ID jumper pins, so every time I started up, there was a SCSI
ID conflict. I used HD SC Setup, and after it finished initializing,
it locked up my PowerMac. Fortunately, the format was good, and by
figuring out the ID error, I was able to start up the SE with the 2 GB
in the enclosure, and install 7.5.3 on the 2 GB. Then one more swap of
drives, and making sure the 2 GB was terminated, and now I have an SE
with a 2 GB hard drive that can network with my G5!!!!
Thanks to everyone for their patience and more importantly, advice. I
wouldn't have had the stamina to do it without you.
