Well, for me, the bad news is that my Classic II has died. It's been balky at turning on for 6mth or so but yesterday it came up with a stripy screen which didn't go away after power-cycling it a few times. Now it doesn't even try. The HD spins up but nothing else.
So, I'll have to try to strip it & run the logic board through the dishwasher. If that doesn't work, it's capacitor-replacement time, which is terrifying to me - I've done almost no component-level electronics work ever and what I have was nigh on 20yr ago. 8¬( Anyway, the good news. Went to visit some old friends tonight & have a small haul of old Mac software. Office 4, FoxPro 2.5, Borland C++, SoftQuad HotMetal 3.0, Apple Internet Connection Kit and some others. I've also got some old Norton Utilities, about v6. Anyway, I don't really want or need most of this, so I'm happy to give it away to anyone that wants it. I've also got some LocalTalk cables and things spare, too. The S/W is almost all boxed with manuals so will be expensive to post. I'm in London, England, so Brits only need apply for most of this, I fear.
