Hi - I've had great luck with the HP 4L laser printer. I bought my first on in 1996(?)at Compusa for 500.00, and I couldn't believe my good fortune a scoring a new HP laser so cheaply! It still works perfectly, and I just replaced the original toner this year! The only drawbacks: the 300dpi engine (for graphics) and no USB, but believe me it makes beautiful text. My current count of the 4L is four: my original, two freebies, & one for 14.00 at the Salvation Army Family Shopping Center two moths ago. They just don't quit. I even have a model 4L/M, which comes with the parallel AND the Mac serial connection built in. The older HP II and III series printers still work too , and every computer and printer in the world can communicate or emulate an HP II or III. And the 4L is small.
