Re ONLY APPLE... This is not exactly so. The LaserWriter II g will
work with a windows computer OR a Macintosh but not both at the same
time.
The thing I do not like about the Apple LaserWriter printers is that
they consume quite a bit of power and put out heat even when they are
just sitting there.
Of course you can turn them off but they take quite a while to boot.
When you go to print, the first copy takes about 15 to 20 seconds to
come out.
The HP 5M is relatively cheap and has lots of folks providing
maintenance kits and memory kits for them as well as additional paper
trays.
You can convert the printer to appletalk by using an iPrint adapter
if it has an ethernet card that way you can use ethernet for the XP
and LINUX.
Best advice I can give anyone is to GIVE UP THE GATES MACHINE. STICK
WITH MACS!
