Good advice.  Back in 1993, I suffered the nVIR infection on my Plus.  Had
to use SAM 3.5.8 on every single floppy I owned.  Took me 2 days to
eradicate the virus.  Turns out, the virus was on a Super Tetris game disk
that I had purchased.  Once I started using that disk, my computer kept
bombing whenever I'd boot it with the boot floppies I had.  Only ones it
wouldn't bomb with, were the System 6.0.7 installation disks.  Once I got
rid of the virus, the Plus returned to normal and has been that way ever
since.  Only recently have I added a HD to it.  So, I suspect that the
original poster's problem is due to caps that are leaky, as you said.
