hkais, how did you install the latest nvidia drivers? From a PPA? If so, which? https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat/+archive/x-updates is the best place that I am aware of. Downloading and installing from nvidia directory is likely to cause problems and is not recommended. As with Ubuntu in general, it is best to stick with the package manager.
