Final notes: It appears there was a number of issues and it was all traced back to compiz being the culprit. A list of the issues I found were these: * The above mentioned issue. * System > Administration > Users Settings - Buttons there not working correctly. * Cannot add items or remove them from the Launch Bar. * Cannot reboot/shutdown since it only took me to the login screen in gnome. Hard-restart was required.
The solution: Go into "Preferences > Appearance > Visual Effects" and make sure it is set to "None". If it already was, you may have a different issue. Once you've done this, reboot ( which you may have to do a hard-restart ) and then check again. Everything worked accordingly after doing this. -- Login Screen Settings greyed out and unlock button non-responsive https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/570885 You received this bug notification because you are a member of compiz packagers, which is subscribed to compiz in ubuntu. _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~compiz Post to : [email protected] Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~compiz More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
