Under Ubuntu 10.4 I tried opening a few programs from the terminal: eog, gedit, file-roller, gcalctool, gimp and ccsm all pop up, but don't get focused and flash on the taskbar instead. Evince gets focused.
When opening documents from nautilus eog, gedit, gimp and file-roller get focused properly.
