a) I knew this problem existed in wine and some old and/or broken apps. Not even the OOo devs knew this was broken because the workaround was fixing it for them. b) You dismiss the problems because this bug affects you and that bug didn't but it was much more serious. A totem stuck half fullscreen/half not fills the screen and is impossible to exit. c) As I said no one knew the code in OOo to handle this had bugs because the WM was covering for it. The OOo devs did know of some issues in this area though so it was already being worked on.
