same for me. after installing the fglrx driver i rebootet the system. then tried to log in to unity. after i had entered my user credentials a windows popped up (before the desktop was loaded). this pop up told me that i can't use unity and asked me to load the ubuntu classic session. i clicked on yes but it seemed that it booted into unity. i only saw the desktop background. no panel and no sidebar and no window decorators. Then the crash report popped up.
