I have noted random freezing as reported in this bug ever since installing Natty in May. It was not until today that I could reproduce it consistently. Screen freezes, mouse remains active, but cannot do anything. Keyboard also becomes inactive. The only way to restore operation is to do a hard shutdown. Perhaps there is something in common with gv code base and code base that affects other programs causing the problem.
