The fix is only designed to sample the mouse at 200Hz, so I think according to the Nyquist–Shannon sampling theorem[1] it will only look smooth on monitors up to 100Hz. I could raise the rate to 250Hz to try and cover the case of 120Hz monitors, but I think other timing issues in compiz might still make it look imperfect on displays above 100Hz. Maybe I should make it a config option, perhaps as a separate enhancement later... [1] http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nyquist-Shannon_sampling_theorem
The "slight delay" issue is a different bug to do with the hardware cursor (Xorg option "HWcursor") and compiz lagging a frame or two behind. Not sure if we have a bug ID for that problem yet. If you have resizing issues, please log a new bug. Preferably with video. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of compiz packagers, which is subscribed to compiz in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/764330 Title: [regression] Moving windows lags behind the mouse by 1-2 seconds; appear to freeze when dragging.
