Multiple users in my company are experiencing a problem when opening
word documents. When they open the doc directly from the system
regardless of location, they are forced to wait at lease 1-2 mins
before the program will come up. They then have to wait another 1-2
mins for the document to load. I have updated the computer and the
office product through microsoft update. I have tried to add add-ins
as recommended by another post and that did not work. I did not have
the thesis add-in on these installs so I could not remove it.
Nevertheless I have removed ALL add-ins and it is still responding
very slowly. I have checked my virus protection (AVG) and I have not
found any options that would create such a delay nor is there any
notification that a virus check is in progress. Memory is more than
likely not the problem because these machines have 2 gigs and are at
15-25% capacity when I remote in. I am at the bottom of my idea
bucket and could really use some help.
