Hi, My desktop is about 5 years old and is performing really sluggishly at the moment. I am running Windows XP and Office 2000. It's got some viruses on it although I regularly carry out updates. I get "Access Violations" boxes with identifying specific addresses. I don't know what these mean but it doesn't sound too good. I have also tried to do a defrag but it came up with an error. I am not intending to buy a new computer at this stage as I am not a high end user. Can someome please advise me on what files and settings to copy that I will need for when my hard disk has been reformatted. Are there any options or alternatives to copying files that would be quicker and easier? Any advice would be most appreciated. Thanks.
