Hi All,
I have a problem with my harddisk.
Let me tell you the entire story,
I have two Hard disks; 1. 80GB IDE hard disk
2. 160GB SATA hard disk.
I am using Windows 7 for OS.
I tried to use both these hard disks at the same time. Hence I
installed the OS in 80GB disk and had 160GB disk as secondary.
In the 160GB drive I had some 6 partitions previously, I tried to make
it as 4 hence I tried deleting the partitions (20GB+10GB+10GB+40GB,
the rest two partitions I decided to have it as it is).
While deleting the first 3 partitions (used windows 7 disk) I saw them
all grouped as un partitioned space. When I tried deleting the last
partition 40GB, this did not get pooled in as un partitioned space,
instead it was shown as a separate un partitioned space with a tag
'extended'.
Then I tried to use windows XP disk to delete the partitions and group
them together (got this from the net). But was unsuccessful. Then
again I tried the same using the windows 7 disk. this time after I
deleted the partitions I saw only one 40GB un partitioned space and
the 'extended' unpartioned space was not listed and in addition to
that I also lost one of my other partition 160GB disk which I did not
intend to delete. :(
Please help me in recovering the deleted partion.
Also now when I try to do some thing about the partition with XP disk
im getting a complete blue screen and an error as below: "A problem
has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to
your computer. Plug and play detected an error most likely caused by a
faulty driver.
Follwed by some series of instructions and finally;

Thanks in advance,
Goutam.
