If you have problem to for just connecting the SATA hard drive then you dont need to buy an adapter, provided its an internal HDD. You just have to attach one power cable right away coming from your SMPS(Switch Mode Power Supply), from which your your CPU gets power supply, to your HDD and one SATA cable(i.e. data cable) to the SATA port onto your motherboard. Then you are ready to use it with some simple steps of initial formatting and disk partitions. I thought that I had bought a IDE hard drive, but I didn't. When it arrived, I was not at home to accept it, so my son did it for me. I was gone for about a week and my son opened it, through away the packing so that when I got home, I found it very difficult to return it. I bought a IDE to SATA or SATA to IDE adapter. My problem is that I have no idea of how to connect it. I've not been able to find instructions on the NET (probably because I don't know exactly what to look for) as to how to connect it. Does anyone know where I can find instructions or even better, pictures, showing exactly how to connect this thing? Thanks in advance for your help. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Computer Tech Support" group.
