What type of sound card do you have? The only thing that instantly
comes to mind is that some sound cards have media managers (icon in
the system tray) and you can chance the way the audio sounds, between
hallway, underwater, glass room, normal, outside, etc. Perhaps one of
these is selected? It is a long shot but I thought I would post.
