I thought I knew all the tricks until I got a computer! I thought I
could spot a scam a mile away, until I got a computer.

Since I got my computer, however, I have repeatedly been the victim of
all kinds of viruses, sypware, trojans and liars.

Basically, I now see that I cannot trust anybody on the internet! The
best way for me to protect myself is to do business only with people I
know, and remain anonymous to everyone else. Anonymous means that I
can talk to just about anybody--but I don't give my name, address,
credit card or bank account number to anybody. I can't do anything
that allows anybody on my computer unless I know them well enough to
trust them.

I should not have anything to do with anybody who offers anything
free, wants me to "register," or wants me to download anything. Don't
have anything to do with Taliban, pornographers, salesmen, etc.

That makes having a computer a very limited experience. That's not
the way I thought this experience was going to be when I bought my
computer.

I'm shocked to hear of some of the scams people fall for on the
internet, telephone, and even in person. We live in a dangerous
jungle. Everybody out there is a predator.

That's the defense mechanism I have now adopted to protect myself from
computer viruses. . . . Am I right?
