Hello techies, I've been using an acer laptop (4520G) for 2 years and recently i switched to windows 7. Since W7 came prepackaged with some driver, I did not use the latest acer supported driver.
However while I played a game with surround and dolby on, my card 'squeked and went to sleep' forever. Well, i reinstalled latest drivers and checked the card in previously working version of Linux. it squeked initially but on persistent nagging went to sleep. I'm unable to identify why it is not producing sound. What should I trouble shoot to identify the problem before blindly replacing the card? Should I check the hardware or software? Btw, my sound card is of Realtek make. Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance, Anoop SL -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Computer Tech Support" group.
