By default, the screen saver does not require a password. And, from your question I suspect that this computer you bought was not new and has a password enabled on the user. And, since you do not indicate whether it is Win7, Vista, XP or what I will only give you the basics After logging in (I presume you can do this right?) you have to get to the screen properties - screensaver where you can set what screen save to use. It is there that you can turn on/off the requirement for a password (with XP it is the checkbox indicating on resume display Welcome screen.
The password is the users password and is NOT the screensaver password.
