My hotmail address is perfectly fine with html messages. I believe
that
you need to update your account settings (to indicate Windows Live
Hotmail).

Now as for clicking on a web address in the mail... just copy from the
email the address and paste it into your browsers address bar.

Also, it is quite common for a web address in an email message to be
displayed as text instead of a link - that is a security/anti-phishing
measure for a lot of email providers. This then requires you to do the
copy/paste instead of clicking the link.
