Obviously the maker of this router is BAD BAD! And, since your ISP
recommended you NOT keep it powered on they have had some
experience of this brand of router overheating (Badly!!!).
The big question is did you get the router from your ISP (I
tend to suspect this to be the case and they did a wholesale
deal with the maker of the router for the cheapest price
they could get and you paid the consequence of their
cheapness).
