I heartily agree!! You obviously do not have the knowledge, skills nor, most likely, the proper tools to do a proper repair.
And, for those others out there... The most likely cause of the weird noise is that when those types of cables (they are coax) go bad they either have a flaky/intermittant ground and the noise is from the ac/dc converter effectively turning off/on because of the loss (or very high resistance) of the output ground.
