ok i have a small suggestion, maybe the explorer doesn't load properly, when
you start the computer and find it blank, open task manager (ctrl+alt+del)
then choose (start task manager // you might not need this step if the task
manager starts directly) then choose ( Task > new task) then type "explorer"
(without quotes) and see if it works

ps. i'm not sure of the naming, i usually use ubuntu, so they might be
slightly different
