i also agree more ram and delete unused software, hp has a lot of added "toys", make sure you completely removed your old ant virus also, i switched my netbook to windows xp and wiped out all hp software, but that will only work if you have a copy laying around an external cd drive and flash drive, and finding some of the drivers was hard also, i would start with ram and if i remember you can disable hp assistant and just use windows update and see how it is then, good luck!
