If we're lucky, this bee-cellphone connection won't be significant, and
cellphones will continue to proliferate until they take over the world.
Or something like that.

However, cellphones or not, somebody had better figure out what's
causing bee disappearances soon. And do something about it.  A world in
which many major food crops have failed and everyone's fighting over the
limited supply of corn (to eat, and to put in the gas tank as
ethanol)--sounds kind of Hobbesian to me.

There have been studies on the effect of electromagnetic radiation on plants and animals for many years, and results are inconclusive. How about satellites or microwave dishes or ordinary radio and TV stations? Was that a movie too?
