Tom,
Could it be that those PCs are not Tinkered with because IT
policy prohibits it or as I call it the "Network Nazi"rules.

I think I see more software tinkering on Macs than PCs. It is rare to see
a Mac that does not have at least a favorite photo on the desktop,
customized dock, and extra Widgets. It is rare that I see even the
simplest customizations on PCs. Even when I see someone with two
computers (uses Mac for "real" work, but IT insists they must have a PC
because IT can't figure out Entourage) their PC will rarely have anything
altered on it. I think most people are afraid to do antyhing to their PCs.
