Most broadband routers include a 4 port hub/switch. Will that suffice?
I am not really "in the loop" as pertains to decisions in this situation. I am asking these questions just to see if the powers that be are going to make the right decisions. I have told them all along that they should stick with a hardwired system, but as you know, the latest technology can blind otherwise thoughtful people.
Anyone wanting to intercept your financial transactions would consider your going wireless a big advantage. They's send you a thank you card from the Grand Caymans.
Yep. As of this afternoon, they have the wireless system running, sort of. The POS application will not work now, and they are telling me that they are now wishing they had never decided to go wireless, and want to look into hooking the CAT5 cables back up. They have been trying to get this thing up for three days. Does the person in charge know much at all about wireless networking? No, but she has a big ego and thinks that is enough to get the job done appropriately. She did no homework in advance of taking this leap, and is paying the price.
