My son has been trying to set up a wireless network in his home....and I've tried to help him too. We've run the set up several times and get connected just fine but once the computers are turned off or the top is put down and it sleeps, they can't get it to reconnect. But they are easily connected to a neighbors wireless!

Paula, you and your son have run afoul of one of Window's idiosyncrasies in regards to wireless networks. Steve Gibson of grc.com has provided a lot of information on configuring wireless for Windows on his Web site and in his Security Now podcast. Check out <http://www.grc.com/sn/notes-081.htm>, which also references the notes to episode 82 and provides links to a Microsoft Knowledgebase article and an optional (should be mandatory) update to Windows wireless client. I have followed all of Steve's recommendations, including the update of the wireless client, and it all works well for me.
