I'm not a Windows fan by any stretch, but what MS has done
makes a lot of sense from a user security perspective.
They have the DEP bit & signed 64 bit drivers.

The DEP bit (Data Execution Prevention) bit keeps the CPU
from trying to execute data as code. Think buffer over-run.
Obviously the lack of signed 64 bit drivers (that is 64 bit
device drivers with valid security signatures certificates)
hurts a lot. But the fact that MS is doing this is trying
to solve these issues that they've had forever seems like it
could be a step in the right direction.

I understand that HD requires lots of stuff. If you have a
PC that has HD, the data has to remain encrypted through-out
the journey through the system. From my limited understanding
it can be decrypted and re-encrypted multiple times on it's
journey through the computer (this is in case someone opens
the case and inserts probes, etc. on the bus to watch signals?).
I understand that Vista implements this so that users can play
HD-DVD's on their computers. What about those people who don't
have or desire HD content? Is the hardware (video cards, etc.)
still going to have the de-cryption/encryption "stuff"? Can it
be used for other tasks?
