The different versions have different capabilities that have nothing to do
with running them in virtualization nor anything to do with what MS gives as
a reason for not wanting someone to run them in VM. Running basic in VM
doesn't not 'enable' anything in basic. All versions run as is out of the
box in VM, for whatever reason MS has decided they only want you to run the
more expensive version in VM. It's their product they can decide they only
want you to run basic on Tuesdays after 2.27pm.

What is the consequence if I do run basic in VM? Maybe we should ask the
editors of Macworld who wrote an article about loading home on VM?

Returning to the specifics of the EULA: There are several versions of the
product selling at different prices. The different versions have
different capabilities. You want the capabilities of the more expensive
version, but don't want to pay more. So you buy the less expensive
version and enable some of the capabilities you did not pay for. Is this
wrong, you bet it is. Is there a consequence, you bet there is.
