I am not sure why Tom would not post the web site but here it is.

http://www.guardian.co.uk/international/story/0,3604,1127295,00.html (By the way the site is not longer up and this story is 3 years old.)

It was a young man who registered and used a domain name of www.mikerowesoft.com.

To me not such a big deal it did not even get close to the real owners name (Except for sounding like it) and did not link to the companies site.

MS did what every company does out there, they try and find people who are capitalizing on their name and stop them. I am not sure of what the outcome was for this young man.

But for a unique spin on this go to www.nissan.com it is not the car companies web site. Read his site and see what he has had to go through to keep it his own site. You must go to www.nissanusa.com to see the auto company.

Yes, some people think I'm their nanny.

You can Google on "Microsoft sue website owner" just as well as I can.
Add the term "Canadian" to your search and the story I was thinking of
will be your first hit.

Rereading the story in the Guardian I see that I was in error. Microsoft
did not offer $50. They offered $10 (ten dollars).
