You do not have to run nightly maintenance scripts to keep the thing,
which must be what you call Macs, from having corrupted files. Are PCs
immune from corrupted files? One similarly does not have to search
that PC every night to keep it free of viruses, but it would perhaps be
better if you did, though certainly not imperative. I do not recall
reading here any suggestion that nightly maintenance routines are a
requirement to keep a Mac running properly. What was written was in
reference to "system files that can get corrupted." Can is the
operative word in this case.
Just look at it as getting a tune-up every day should one choose to
perform daily maintenance routines which require no user input unless
so desired. Who would complain about a daily tune-up? Or a weekly one
or a monthly one? Or even annually if you like?
