>What maintenance routines other than daily, weekly, monthly need >to be run? When and how should I run them? I run MacJanitor on 10.4.8.
With 10.4.8 you don't need MacJanitor. One of the most important things to do is to turn off the automatic updaters for the OS and various other programs. Updates need to be deliberate, done in a controlled manner, to avoid updates you'll regret. A few times a year I would review the offered updates and do the ones that are known safe. For example, today I would avoid X.4.10 and Security Update 2007-006. I usually check fonts periodically because they are important to my work and can get messsed up through work. I do have SMARTReporter running to check on the drive. Not much else to do. After all it is not a PC. ************************************************************************ * ==> QUICK LIST-COMMAND REFERENCE - Put the following commands in <== * ==> the body of an email & send 'em to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] <== * Join the list: SUBSCRIBE COMPUTERGUYS-L Your Name * Too much mail?
