cent inquiries both personal and on line have failed to uncover any
knowledge of being asked to do this in recent times.
Does anybody have any experience with this? I travel relatively
seldom, and almost never with a laptop.

I fly only once or twice a year but always with a laptop and I
haven't been asked to poweron my laptop in years. I live in
Indianapolis and they don't ask us to turn it on here.
