Is that a good reason to buy OEM in jet cartridges, getting back to the original question? The one seller of compatible Epson inkjet cartridges recommended on this list a few days ago costs as much as OEM.
I recommended MIS Associates who have a web site, Inksupply.com. Last time I looked, their third party Epson inks for one of my printers were quite a bit lower in price than the official Epson ink carts. In fact, having just taken a look, I can say that their non-Epson carts of "normal" ink for my printer are about 1/5 the cost of Epson branded carts. Take another look.
I have never had a problem with any type of cartridge I have bought from this company and that includes the inexpensive "compatible" carts as well as expensive archival ink carts.
They also carry cleaning carts in case there is a stoppage of ink from a jet or to clean the printhead when switching ink types.
