I had a similar problem when I used a 1 GB SD card in my camera.  I later
found out that the camera wasn't guaranteed to work with anything larger
than 512 MB.  So I stopped using anything greater than 512 MB SD in the
camera.  And the 1 GB SD card has worked for over a year in my PDA just
fine, being used all the time.
