I am surprised that Tom would mention Intel, they have been accused of some of the same sins as MS and Bill Gates have.

Lack of engineering innovation, buying up competition, quashing competition. If it were not for AMD, we would all be paying hundreds more for our PC's.

What the Intel chief was probably talking about was a way to lock down the BIOS so folks could not play with it.

It is my understanding that Apple uses a proprietary BIOS type configuration.
