I ran that wonderful FREE registry cleaner in pcmagazine. cleaned registry,
and a few other things. never could get back to Zero. machine would not boot.
with only oem win XP on a separate partition, was easiest just to overwrite
XP. so I rebuilt the computer. not that difficult. is a crummy compaq with a
an amd 3400+ semperon.

1. I am unable to get the display adjustments to stick. I change font/point
sizes on the scroll bar, icons, fonts and they disappear when I reboot. have
changed them using right click on screen and
<properties<appearance<advanced<okay<apply. No good
used control panel<display<etc. and still no carryover. how do I get the
changes into perminant memory?

2. I bought and installed a WD internal drive. came with a utility that
allowed:

When copying from partition to partition, if the destination partition is a
primary partition , Drive-To-Drive Data Copy will make the partition bootable

anyone ever tried this. I will probably pull the bootable C drive some day
soon and try to boot form the L drive to see if it flies. if it does, is this
not pretty much what people using ghost and acronis are looking for?

happh thanksgiving all.
