What brought Apple's "idea" policy to my attention was a very nasty letter their legal department had written to a little 9 year old girl who had sent a letter to Steve Jobs that contained her suggestions for future iPods. I believe that her letter to Jobs had been part of a classroom project, but when she received a terse and commanding "cease and desist" order from Apple as opposed to some kind of "thank you" note, she was devastated. Apple has now begun to review their policies along these lines, especially as they pertain to how Apple responds to children.
