At the suggestion of another member of this group, I had him increase his swap file size, and he just replied that trick seems to have solved the problem. Thanks!

I've got a question about a problem I've been having with my computer.
I can't open larger photo (jpeg) files anymore . . . I get a blank
screen, and depending upon which photo display software I use I either
get message "cannot create bitmap file"

This scenario is usually caused by a lack of RAM.
