More information: I think I've found part of the problem (me), in that I have been putting my files in C>>>My Music and not all the way in the iTunes folder. I just assumed that when I imported the MP3's from My music, that they would automatically go into the iTunes folder but they didn't. Obviously, there is something wrong with my sequence. I have been dubbing WAV files with Audacity to an external drive, using Audacity to export as MP3's to My music on the C-drive and then importing the MP3's into iTunes on the C-drive.

What is the proper/best sequence to get the music into iTunes so that it will stay there?
WinXP, iTunes 7.5.0.20

TIA

I've been working with iTunes and have discovered a problem that keeps showing up. I keep getting an exclamation point next to some songs without warning or reason, indicating that the song can't be found. I just spent the last 2 hours going through and re-importing about 100 songs. While re-linking, I kept seeing other songs pop up. After I got it all done (or so I thought), 100 more showed up, and they look like different ones. I'm new to this iPod/iTunes thing so it could be user error but if it is, I don't know what it is.

Also, is there a way to re-import the files as a batch, or is it one by one?

Any suggestions? TIA!
