OK, I can get the drive to recognize on someone else's Mac (running OS 10.4.11,
same as mine). It still won't register on mine.

A client gave me a Western Digital Passport external drive to copy file to.
It's formatted for Windows, & the files are on my laptop Mac. I can't get the
Mac to recognize the drive, much less re-format it for a Mac. I can re-format
on the PC, but still can't get the Mac to recognize it. tia.
