I think what you're seeing is just the Comcast cache - what they call "PowerBoost". It can be quite useful for things like movie trailers.
But it can be annoying when I just want to test my speed. I just ran a couple tests at speedtest.net to Frederick Md. and Wash. DC, and the DC test actually pegged the meter at 39205kbps (39mb/s) (1931kbs up). Okay, this is a colossal waste of time. As I try different speedtest servers _many_ of them are pegging the meter. Results vary for those that apparently aren't on the cache, but seem to be averaging about 20000kbs/1600kbs. You didn't give a link to your trailer so I can't compare. The YouTube version isn't doing anything spectacular, but since it's a streaming server I wouldn't expect much. The Apple site won't let me download because it can't find a Quicktime ActiveX control (though why it would need one in Firefox is beyond me). Now I miss the Old Days when a speed test was a speed test. :) On Sat, May 10, 2008 at 9:32 AM, Jeff Wright <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > I just tested by bandwidth this morning (downloading the new Batman HD movie > trailer seemed awfully fast) and I am regularly getting over 10 Mb/sec d/l > and 1.5 Mb/sec upload.
