Like Tony, this choice seems a bit odd to me--it's sort of like saying, in
order to do X you will need either a garden hose or a microwave oven.

In any event, I would definitely go with Firefox over iTunes. My experience
with iTunes has been absolutely horrible. If I were to compile a Top Ten
list of the worst software I've ever used, iTunes would be right up near the
top.  

Firefox, on the other hand, is solid; and it won't interfere with your use
of IE as long as you don't make it the default browser. If it happens to
install itself as the default browser (e.g., Firefox opens when you click
link from an email), just start IE, open Tools->Internet Options->Programs,
and click "Make Default".
