Well, I just fell for the iPhone hype, and in the Apps, I discovered the coolest thing - http://www.pandora.com
You don't have to have an iPhone, and apparently, you can listen on Sprint phones, as well as ATT phones, or you can listen to the stream on your computer. It's very cool - you type in an artist or a song name, and Pandora creates a "radio station" which streams songs that are musically related, either by the same artist, or by similar music (for instance, I put in Grateful Dead, and the third song that played was a Bob Dylan tune, ie - related by folk-rock type). As the songs play, you can vote "I like it" or "I don't like it" and the "station" will be modified accordingly. The idea is that the listener gets exposed to new artists who are similar to the tastes that you specify by your voting - the same way that Netflix and Amazon suggest movies and books, respectively, based on your prior purchasing patterns.
