Since it requires a lot of expensive 'wiring', I doubt it. I know *our* local phone company, Frontier, has no plans for fiber at all.
I'm much more excited about the pending rollout of Sprint's Wimax in the DC (and Chicago) area (http://www.dslreports.com/shownews/81062).
