Easy Recovery Pro from ontrack can scan HD's and look for deleted files etc. Not that these were deleted, but you get the point. I believe they have a free trial version...they show you your files, you show them the money. There are several of these types of programs out there, googling for data recovery should point some out. I don't know of any that are freeware, there might be a better chance of finding a linux open source then a freeware windows.
