We have had a TiVo DVR a couple of years. It was connected directly to Comcast cable using "cable in". Now we want to connect it to a digital set-top box.
I tried to connect the TiVo to the digital box with a coax using the same connection that had been used to connect directly to cable. This is the same input that can be connected directly to the (analog) TV with no problem. But the TiVo could not detect a signal. When I researched this, the examples I found seemed to suggest you need a component video connector to connect the TiVo to the digital box. Is this true? Why would the TiVo need this when the TV has no problem with the RF coax connection? On Wed, Oct 1, 2008 at 10:22 AM, Rev.
